華盛頓郵報七日報導，美國美土確診伊波拉感染首例的賴比瑞亞男子鄧肯，已「病危且無反應」。

華郵指出，鄧肯的未婚妻（或女友）等親屬六日在他住院的德州健康長老會醫院，透過電腦攝影機看到住院中的鄧肯。一名友人說：「他完全沒有反應。（院方）他們說用了藥，讓他熟睡。」

友人還說，鄧肯曾向家屬親友致歉，自稱並不知道自己感染了伊波拉，若是早知道，「寧願死在賴比瑞亞，也不願意把病毒傳給大家」。
